The Friends of the National Library of Australia are pleased to host an online discussion with critically acclaimed writer and multiple award winner, Dervla McTiernan.

Dervla is the author of the internationally bestselling Cormac Reilly series (The RuinThe ScholarThe Good Turn) and the audio novellas The Sisters, The Roommate and The Wrong One. Dervla has won a Barry Award, a Davitt Award, a Ned Kelly Award and an International Thriller Writer Award. Her latest standalone novel The Murder Rulewas a Number 1 bestseller for four weeks. In 2011 Dervla moved from Ireland to Australia, where she turned her hand to writing following her early career as a lawyer.

This discussion will be facilitated by Anna Steele, who writing as Anna Creer, reviews crime fiction for the Canberra Times and the ACM Press. Anna was Head of English at Canberra Grammar School until she retired in 2005. Since then she has regularly reviewed for the Canberra Times, including crime fiction, historical fiction and literary criticism.

The event will be held live via Zoom, at 6.00pm AEDT and 3.00pm AWST. The access link will be emailed to all attendees one week prior to the event, with a reminder sent on the day prior.
