Dog Beach by Julie Murphy and Annie White
A new children's book is set to capture the hearts of young readers and their parents as it combines two beloved aspects of Australian culture: dogs and the beach. Dog Beach takes readers on a delightful adventure along the sunny shores of Australia, showcasing the different types of dogs that Australians love.
The watercolour illustrations by Annie White add nuance and character to the story, making it an immersive reading experience. The whimsical and zany cast of dogs, in all shapes and sizes, will surely captivate the imagination of children who love both dogs and the beach.
Educational information at the back of the book sheds light on various aspects of dogs and their roles in society. From huskies in Antarctica to guide dogs and farm dogs, readers will learn about the different types of dogs and their owners. Accompanying the text are images sourced from the National Library of Australia's pictures collections, showcasing both fun and wacky, as well as serious and strong dogs.
This delightful children's book is set to become a favourite among families across Australia. Whether it's a lap dog or a working dog, Dog Beach celebrates the special bond between Australians and their furry friends.
Dog Beach will be released in November 2024.
