Copyright conditions

I am aware of my obligations under the Copyright Act 1968 as amended by the Copyright Amendment (Moral Rights) Act 2000 in relation to the use I propose to make of the item to be copied, including but not limited to my obligations to respect the moral rights of authors and creators. I indemnify the National Library against any action arising from breaches of these Acts through my use of the supplied copy.

I agree that if I publish, copy, quote, perform, broadcast or display any item provided by the library, I will only do so in accordance with the Copyright Act and any additional conditions conveyed to me by the copyright owner or the National Library of Australia.

I agree to include with any use of the copy at least the following information for each item published or quoted: author or creator (if known); title, issue no & date (if a serial or newspaper); identifying number (such as persistent identifier or call number); and acknowledgement that the original copy is owned by the National Library of Australia. I agree to place the information listed in (3) on the same page or screen as the published or quoted item, or as close to the item as possible: for example, in a footnote, end-note or footer, as mouse-over text, in credits, on packaging, on the back of a poster or flyer or in an accompanying brochure.

I agree that if I publish the item electronically, I will limit the delivery format to a level unsuitable for reproduction at publication quality.

I agree that it is my responsibility to verify the accuracy of any information supplied by the National Library about the item I wish to use, including but not limited to information on author/ creator name, title and copyright status, and that the Library is not liable for any inaccuracies in this information.
